This week’s Barna Minute looks at what pastors say is the best way to teach people about Christianity.
In the latest release from Barna’s Spiritually Open series, 85 percent of pastors say that having a one-on-one conversation with a Christian is one of the most successful ways to help people learn about Christianity. More than half of pastors (56%) also point to small groups, another venue for conversation, as a successful method. Other options pastors say are effective include bible studies (51%), sermons (48%), one-on-one conversations with a pastor (39%) and through the personal reading of scripture (35%).
The least likely ways of successfully teaching people about Christianity, according to pastors, include social media (9%), tracts/handouts (7%) and street evangelism (4%).
