This week’s Barna Minute explores how U.S. teens view the Bible.
Data from The Open Generation: U.S. Country Report show that the Bible is seen as significant and sacred by U.S. teens. Roughly half of this group (48%) see the Bible as the word of God and about one in five (19%) say the Bible as inspired by God and that it contains no errors. Just eight percent are unsure what they believe about the Bible.
Christian teens offer just slightly different responses, with 50 percent saying the Bible is significant and sacred, and 21 percent saying it is the inspired word of God and contains no errors. A very small percentage of U.S. Christian teens are unsure what they believe about the Bible (6%).
